The official [v4.0.0 release record](https://github.com/aspnet/jquery-validation-unobtrusive/releases/tag/v4.0.0)
states “Updated the license to MIT.” The tagged project's
[`LICENSE.txt`](https://github.com/aspnet/jquery-validation-unobtrusive/blob/v4.0.0/LICENSE.txt)
contains the MIT License and the copyright notice above. The published
[Microsoft.jQuery.Unobtrusive.Validation 4.0.0 NuGet package](https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.jQuery.Unobtrusive.Validation/4.0.0)
also identifies MIT in its package license metadata.
The inspected official `.nupkg` SHA-256 is
`2b8c467cfc46e116950641f2099afc5f77186ec4e7e86bb271d95a30932ca195`.

The upstream JavaScript source and distributed script retain an Apache-2.0
banner that refers readers to `License.txt` in the project root. That banner
conflicts with the v4.0.0 release record and the license file it references;
it is stale inherited header metadata. It is retained unmodified in the
vendored scripts for source integrity, but Apache-2.0 is not an additional
license grant for this v4.0.0 artifact, and upstream does not describe it as
dual-licensed.

The NuGet package manifest separately records `© Microsoft Corporation` as
package copyright metadata. The project license's required notice remains
`.NET Foundation and Contributors` as shown in `LICENSE.txt`.
